It’s that time of year. Ghosts are abroad.

Ghost moths live their lives as larvae. After a year in the darkness below ground, hepialid caterpillars metamorphose and emerge into the other darkness above ground. They spread their giant wings and fly into the night. They mate. They die. They are ephemeral.
